Remake of Arjun Reddy, the Telugu Blockbuster, Is Official and Soon To Start Shooting

It`s official! Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde of Cine1 Studios (they had delivered `Mubarakan` in 2017) have stowed the rights for Bollywood Remake of Arjun Reddy, the Telugu blockbuster, which received critical acclaim a year ago.

The deal was fixed in Hyderabad a week ago. The fact that Telugu Blockbuster Arjun Reddy has become a cult romantic movie with a pan-India appeal has made its Hindi remake a must venture for Bollywood`s young guns. In the course of a recent couple of weeks, speculations have been overflowing about which actor character will sack the film, with names of a few A-listers doing the rounds Varun Dhawan’s name has come up.

“Discussions are on right now,” says Murad Khetani, adding, “We will make an announcement soon.” On his part, Ashwin Varde says, “The movie will be edgy and completely mainstream.” Given the trend of most Hindi remakes of South films, this too is expected to be grander than the original. While various directors have shown their interest to direct the film, which is touted to be one of the most awaited films of the year, the producers have roped in Sandeep Vanga, who directed the original. The movie will go on floors soon.

Arjun Reddy is a 2017 Telugu movie written and directed by debutant Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by his sibling Pranay Reddy Vanga on Bhadrakaali Pictures banner. In this film, the lead, Arjun Reddy, is whimsical, free-vivacious and tries to break the shackles of conventional societal standards. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead parts.

The film recounts the account of a young and brilliant medico, Arjun Reddy with outrage anger issues. The film manages the contemporary issues in urban youth upon love failures and got basic praise and received critical acclaims thus gained a cult following among youth in two Telugu states.
