This is the second movie by the director Nandita Das after 'Firaaq' in the year of 2008. Das shared this news on Twitter for her fans. 'Un Certain Regards' means a special glimpse, whereas in the common French it means in a different perspective. It involves movies where the story has been called unconventional.

She wrote that we are at the Cannes Film Festival! Manto has been selected in its official category 'Un Certain Regards'. This news is going to thrill all the members of the film.
